You probably fear them cause all the false info people give out about earthqaukes.

Q: Can the ground open up during an earthquake?

A: Shallow crevasses can form during earthquake-induced landslides, lateral spreads, or other types of ground failures. Faults, however, do not open up during an earthquake. Movement occurs along the plane of a fault, not perpendicular to it. If faults opened up, no earthquake would occur because there would be no friction to lock them together.

  4. i did. I've always been curious about earthquakes.

  5. i kinda did.

it made my day more interesting.

but i was scared as h**l.

  6. I was standing next to my wife on the fourth floor of the hospital when it hit. I've been through many earthquakes being a native Californian and an old f**t. When I didn't hear popping and crashing as the ripples hit I knew it was going to be another fun ride. The whole building was swaying back and forth, IV bottles swaying, the door to her room was waving back and forth. It was pretty cool.

  7. just a bit, but when it was really shaking, I was in utter terror.

Its less scary when youre in a Class with students nearby you

  8. I did.  It was my 1st earthquake since I moved back here 2yrs ago.  I was in Hurricane Rita.  I would much rather go through a quake.

  9. i was watchin oceans 13 and the part when he says hit emm harder, our earthquake hit.  Man they make moveis realistic these days!!

    NO LIE!!!!!

  10. I was a bit scared, but I didn't freak out.  There are natural disasters everywhere. Other states get hurricanes and tornadoes on a much more regular basis than we get earthquakes. I love living in California - it's gorgeous here! But, maybe I should make an earthquake survival kit or something.

  11. I didn't, but the first thing I did before going out side was that I made sure my computers wheren't about to fall or anyting. If the computers get damaged I can loose a lot of important information.
