but i still eat them on occasion

  4. the friday man

  5. I have not, but plan on trying them.

    Ingredients

    1 cup buttermilk pancake mix

    3/4 cup ice water

    1 quart vegetable oil

1 sleeve of Oreo cookies (14 each)

    2 tablespoons confectioners sugar

    Directions

    1. Freeze cookies for 3 hours.

    2. In a heavy-gauge 3-quart sauce pot heat oil to 350 degrees F.

    3. While oil is heating, set up a sheet pan with paper towels for draining.

    4. In a medium-sized mixing bowl stir water into buttermilk pancake mix with a wooden spoon until thoroughly combined. As soon as batter is smooth, dip each cookie, one at a time, into batter and smooth batter, making a thin coat completely around the cookie. Place coated cookie carefully into hot oil. Repeat for each cookie. Fry on both sides, turning over once until golden brown.

    5. Remove fried cookie from hot oil with metal tongs and drain on paper towels. Dust with confectioners sugar.

    6. Let cool slightly (about 2 minutes) before serving.

(The above recipe is slightly different from the original so that consumers can make it at home.)

  6. ME! THEY TASTE BADDDDDDDDDDDDDDD.........

  7. i have not had them but that sounds so good have you had them i want to try what a great idea thanks

  8. We had them at a fair a few years ago.  We got enough that we could each have 2.  My husband didn't finish the first one.  My 5 year old son ate his.  I finished my first one but felt sick afterwards.  Our toddler ate his but made a big mess.

All in all I think they are disgusting.  We would never get them again.

  9. hmm, dun think fried oreo would taste good as firstly, if u didn't drain it well, it would taste sweet and oily. secondly, its sweet and delicious on its own so why fry it?  ( this is my personal opinion, no offence)

  10. I tried them at the State Fair, and I will never try them again.  Not at all what they're cranked up to be, so don't waste your dime.

  11. i think it would taste awful

    no i havent had it

  12. Not I. I don't even like them plain. Too sweet for me.

  13. Yes, not good. No comparison to fired ell tho...., yum!

  14. Fried Oreos?  Oh h**l yeah!

My once-a-year guilty pleasure from the San Genaro festival.

If they are done right, and all the booths on Mulberry Street have it down to an art form, they are heavenly!!!

  15. Ugh, I had them at a street fair a few summers ago.

    I was NOT a fan....

Some things were just not meant to be fried in my opinion....

    I'll stick with funnel cake!
