  1. It's all bunkum. The lie was spread many years later by Nero's enemies, because he supposedly blamed the Christians for the great fire.

    What is true is that he rebuild the previously highly inflammable Rome, that had many wooden buildings, with new brick and marble.

    Just a technical point: the "fiddle" had not even been invented at the time. If anything he would have played the "lyre", a sort of harp, which was one of his passions.
