  1. well its supposed to depends on who is paying for it.  go to a stationary store that sells wedding invitations, they will be able to give you all of the edquite rules.  when i ordered my inviations they told me all kinds of things i didnt know about how to address wedding invitations. good luck!

  2. usually the father

Divorced parents are hosting the wedding together"

    Mr. Christopher Myers

    and

Ms. Janet Myers request the honor of your presence

at the marriage of their daughter

    Anne Catherine

Divorced parent and new stepparent are hosting the wedding:

    Mr. and Mrs. Marc Velez

request the honor of your presence

at the marriage of Mrs. Velez's daughter

    Anne Catherine Myers

    etc.

Child of divorced and remarried parents both hosting the wedding:

    Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Myers

    and

    Mr. and Mrs. Marc Velez

request the honor of your presence

at the marriage of their daughter

    Anne Catherine

    etc.

  3. Your invites should say " invited to the wedding of Susan Smith, daughter of Jane Brown and Fred Smith" or "Jane Smith and Fred Smith"...people know your folks are divorced. List your mom first. If she hasn't remarried, just by using a last name for both parents instead of "daughter of Jane and Fred Smith", it makes it very clear that they are two SEPARATE individuals.

  4. For example -

    Lisa Marie,

    daughter of

    Frank Smith and Lois Williams,

    and

    Mark Henry,

    son of

    Christopher Green and Mary Green

If a parent has remarried, put the new spouse's first name in brackets. Like if the bride's dad had remarried, it would read "Frank (Susan) Smith and Lois Williams.

If the bride's mom remarried -

Frank Smith and Lois (Peter) Williams.

If parents are divorced and not remarried, and wife kept same surname, list separately, as in the above "Christopher Green and Mary Green"

  5. Before they met, their strength was of one

    Through marriage, they will experience

the strengh of much more than two

    BRIDE

    and

    GROOM

    together with their parents

invite you to witness and celebrate

    the joining of their lives

    on DAY

    YEAR

    at TIME

    LOCATION

    ADDRESS

    CITY, STATE

Avoid the whole issue, by using the phrase "together with their parents."  Just another option to consider.

  6. Both sets of parents are divorced with us.

We did not include our step parents ..but neither step parent raised us (well jason's did but he didn't want to use his stepdad)

It was Mr.Chesney's Dad and Mrs.Chesney's Mom

    and

Mr. Jason's Dad and Mrs.Jason's Mom

    ladies had different last names.

  7. traditionally you ask the father for his daughters hand in marrage, so the father will be listed first on your invitations.

then the mother. hope this helped.
