Okay, I am 26 and I drive my dads car. He just added me in his insurance policy, so now the car is officially under his name, but I am also a secondary driver.

I got a 100$ ticket in the mail from the RED LIGHT CAMERA POLICE last week, it came under his name, since the car is under his name.

I got another 100$ ticket again from the RED LIGHT CAMERA POLICE for another day I passed a red light.

And just today, I got a parking violation for 26$ because the meter expired.

I wanted to know that sin the RED LIGHT CAMERA tickets came under my dads name, but I was driving, but since cameras took a pic of the car, and car is under dads name, who's license accumulates points? Mine, or his? Or neither?

And also, getting a parking violation for meter expiring, since the ticket was on my windshiled wiper, does that also accumulate points or no?

Can someone please answer these questions for me, becasue I am not sure who( me or dad) gets the points since we both drive, but it is named under him.

  1. Check with the DMV, it varies by state I believe.

  2. LEARN HOW TO STOP AT RED LIGHTS!! it's under your dads name but if you happen to get stopped by the cop it's under your license it's yours! but also check the dmv website given by first answer person!

  3. in all three cases it's yor dad that goes down for it! Lol. He'll enjoy the price increase next time he pays the insurance bill.

Good old dads uh? Make sure you look after him when he's old and needy!

Btw I know someone that was passing with a green light and was hit from a girl that jumped the light, he got out, shot her in the head and went back on his way.

    Scary uh?

  4. Probably the moving violations will go under your dad's id unless he disputes and charges you. More information on how to deal with parking tickets on the blog spot.

  5. First of all, pay attention and stop when the light is red!  With automated cameras the points go to the person who the car is registered under.  If you were to get pulled over and given a ticket by a cop, whomever is driving at the time would get the points.
