Question:

Who gets the Master Bedroom?

We are renting a beach house with our daughter and friends of ours and tehir children. We both paid the same amount for the house and are both traveling the same amount of distance. Our daughter is going to sleep in our room with us and their children aren't. There is one room with a king sized bed and another room with 2 twins. On the other side of that floor there is the larger master bedroom.

What is the best way to determine this without any problems? Thanks

Also, there are 3 bathrooms and it has been said that each family will have their own bathroom. One of these bathrooms os huge with a large jacuzzi tub and all the bells and whistle. Same issue.

Please help!

  1. Well If you are sharing the room with your daughter than I think you should get the master bedroom.. only makes since. Thier kids can have the one room and your friend can have the last one.. and about the bathrooms.. I guess which ever one is closer to your room.. But i mean you should be able to share the bathroom that has all the luxury in it too.. I mean its just a bathroom anyways.. so just talk about it..

  2. It sounds like you want the big room. :)

I'd probably say draw straws or roll some dice for it for fun. No sense in not having a great time at the beach over a room.

For me I'd go with whomever put in the most work. Who booked it, who found it, who researched it, who put down the deposit etc. I'd say "would you mind if we took the master bedroom with the largest bed since our daughter is sleeping with us?" Then see where it goes.

  3. If you are sharing the room with your daughter you should get the master bedroom... Let them have the bathroom with all the bells and whistles...

  4. I would go with the first answer. One family take the larger room and since your daughter is sleeping with you it woulld make sense for that family to be yours. The other rooms are on the other side of the floor, so the other parents will be with their children. Makes sense doesn't it. The other family also gets the whizz-bang bathroom.

But if you are all friends, why can't you sort this out together.

The jacuzzi sounds like you could all fit in. Share, share, share.

  5. Rotate rooms.

  6. You will have to discuss it with them. They might like to flip a coin. Or they might like to talk about how they need a bedroom near their two children. Communication is key here so that you dont go home with anyone resenting anything. You might next year want to get a smaller place of your own where they can also have a place nearby
