Who gets the bad equipment at hendrick in 09?

We all know than hendrick always has one car that's not as good as the others.

It was always the 25 with Craven, Nadaeu, and Nemechek

Then it was the 5 at the end of Terry Labonte's career.

Then it went back to the 25 with Vickers and Mears.

Then its Mears now in the 5.

So Who gets the bad car next year?

Dont blame it on the drivers.

The drivers changed the results didnt.

While 3 teams are battling for the championship the other is always 14th -25th in points

  1. the most over rated driver there

    D JR

  2. The history of the #5 car lately Mark Martin will likely get the sub par equipment. I don't think Jeff & Jimmie would put up with not getting the best equipment. Rick is not going to let the Big three faulter too bad.

  3. Probably Jr. I think that because he seems to be getting the best of the best this season, and Jimmie and Jeff aren't doing so well. So next year I think Rick will try to get Mark, Jeff, and Jimmie back on top. They may figure out something and get them all up there in the chase in the end, and if that's true it will make Casey Mears look pretty bad. If not Jr, then I think they may give Johnson or Gordon the shaft again, since Johnson already has a couple of championships, and Gordon is looking to retire soon. There could be a lot of conflict at HMS next season so it should be pretty interesting to see what happens.

  4. For years the company has said that all drivers are treated the same, but there always seems to be one who is at the far end of the garage and just can't get any equipment....I guess the parts run out before it reaches that team. Martin will be the driver who'll need a box and a disguise to make sure his hot-rod does not get left behind when the parts chase starts on Monday morning.

  5. I think it should be Mark Martin. He needs to retire anyway.

  6. The low man on the Totum pole always gets the left over junk, that would be Mark Martin, but Hendrick junk is usually better than most.

Jr. Over rated? what have you been smoking? just say no to drugs!

  7. I agree with Serena, probably Mark Martin.

  8. well if Hendrick does have sub-par equipment I would say it will probably go to Martin.   Look what he has done for dei.  He has been up there all year, so I dont think he will be quite as bad as Casey Mears was.  I think he will be in the top 15 most of the time.

  9. I know he has already said this year he's wanting to concentrate on making Dale Jr a champion. I don't think Jeff, Jimmie, or Casey is getting sub par equipment. If anything they may be doing a lot of testing during these races leading to the chase. I think you'll see them wake up when the chase starts..

As for 2009 I think they will do the same thing. I don't think it will be one driver gets special treatment. I think they will do the same thing and experiment throughout the year and once the chase starts they will not look like anyone has an advantage.

  10. I'm thinking with all of his struggles lately....maybe #24???? It seems to be transitioning that way doesn't it? Just an opinion....most of you will probably disagree.

  11. If the bad equipment is at HMS, it will be Junior.  But my guess would be the horrible equipment will be at Stewart Haas.  The reason I am going with a bad car at SHR is because they are getting most of their equipment from HMS.

  12. probably Mark Martin

  13. i don't believe there is any sub par equipment at hms. i believe the problem stems from shared information and lack of communication with the team that seams to be inferior. that's just my opinion since i know they all get their equipment from the same parts pool, and the engines are chosen by each team from the engine shop that all of them have availability to.

  14. Not sure but I don't think it will be Jr cause Rick's goal and Jr's is to get him a championship!

  15. well you know it will not be gordon or johnson. so now it is up to jr or martin. i will have to say martin just because he is only going to run all the races next year and then only half in 2010. and then it will fall on who ever jumps into the 5 for 2010 and so on.

  16. Earnhardt, of course!

  17. I believe it will continue to be Gordon. They will try to get Martin and Jr. a good shot at winning the championship.Gordon has said he will retire soon.He has four cups. He is the best driver therefore can make the most out of subpar equipment.Johnson always has good stuff and the best crew chief in the world.
