Who gives licenses for giant public LCD screens in London ?

I want to know who authorizes the installation of these giant LCD panels in London ? And that conditions must be meet ?

  1. I have to assume two things on this question before I answer it so please let me know if I'm wrong.

    First, I assume you're talking about the large displays in London's Piccadilly Circus. Second, I assume you want to advertise on one of them not actually install one.

    If you're looking to advertise I know Clear Channel manages at least one of the LCD boards in Piccadilly Circus.

    I'm not 100% positive but I believe some of the other boards may be owned privately by McDonald's, LG, Coca-Cola because those boards seem to ONLY run their ads and nothing else.

    If you were looking to actually install one of your own LCD boards it may be worth calling Clear Channel to find out the requirements whatever your intentions are.

    Also, if you were talking about the LCDs throughout London Underground and public transport those are owned and managed by CBS outdoor. There are also other smaller LCD boards (a little smaller than regular billboards) that are managed by JCDecaux all over London.
