  1. Legally,  the pedestrian has the right of way.    Still, it is an idiot who steps out in front of a car without first making eye contact with the driver to be sure they are seen.

The pedestrian going first is really common sense.   The driver of the car is protected by the body of the vehicle,  the pedestrian has no protection.    The car also serves to protect the pedestrian from other drivers who aren't paying attention.

  2. The pedistrian has the right of way.legally but common sense says he should give way to a car.

  3. Pedestrians ALWAYS have the right of way.  Drivers must let them go first.  But if you happen to be the pedestrian, be careful because many times people are looking for oncoming traffic and are not looking at the corner that you are about to step off.

  4. Pedestrians have right of way, but todays drivers are ignorant of that law so you must be careful!

  5. In all 50 states and around the world, the pedestrian always has the right of way even in this situation.

  6. pedrestians in a marked or unmarked cross walk always have the right of way over vehicles.  There dose not have to be the little green walky guy it just has to be a cross walk ( corner to corner with or with out lines straight across not diagonally)
