  1. Win/win situation for both.  Yes, Kyle is having a killer year.  However, with his attitude I sincerely think he will burn out and fade away.

Jr is just gaining momentum and confidence with an attitude that is positive and healthy.  Frankly, I see his career taking off and am confident his upswing will last.  Remember people, how old was the late great Dale Earnhardt when his career hit the big time?  The answer is approximately the same age as Jr.

Nothing but good things coming to Dale Jr.  Now bring on the thumbs down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The future will speak for itself.

  2. Even though most would say Kyle would win between him & Dale Jr. I'd have to say, looking at both 2007's & current 2008's that they both benefitted. Kyle's winning more races than he did in the #5 & leading the points, Dale is more competitve & consistent week in & week out.

    So both. Win-Win.

  3. Let me say that Kyle got the better deal.  Joe and JD can handle their money well.  Rick is unfortunately a moron when it comes to money.  Rick, if we all remember, was convicted of a federal felony of tax evasion in 1997.  Junior may be the ticket for the merchandise sector of HMS, but he's unfortunately not the best in the racing department, and I know he's got one win to his credit this year.

  4. Jr. is doing better at Hendricks you have to admit that at least.  Yes Kyle and Gibbs got the better deal for sure. I think hendricks is pretty much regretting that they gave Kyle the boot for jr.  But maybe not if it is a money thing like bestanswer said.

  5. WOW!!! that is a hard one but i would have to agree with bestanswer on this one.   if hendrick wanted talent he wouldnt have even looked at jr. but he does love that money (who doesnt).  gibbs got the better deal because they like talent and now they have it.

  6. As far as results go, I hate to say it but, Kyle Busch looks like he came out the winner here.

  7. J.R. fursure ya Kyle's having a KILLER year BUT so is Dale and I think once this cycle turns  JR will defiantly be the one on top... Besides Wait till next year when Tony #20 goes to Hendricks ITS OVER!!!!

  8. It was a win/win situation for both drivers and teams.

  9. I think both teams benefitted from adding their new drivers to their teams but Kyle has done better overall

  10. honestly, i'm going to have to say kyle busch. you can't beat 5 wins, and leading the points.

  11. I think it was a step in the right direction for both of them. Kyle is winning now, which is something he didn't do much of when he belonged with HMS. Jr. is a real contender now, in great equipment, and no blown engines! Kyle is first in points, and Jr. is third in points, and they have been that way most of the season. Kyle has never contended for a championship like he is doing this year, and it has been a very long time since Jr. has. I am sure they are both incredibly happy with their moves.

  12. It was good for both. Hendrick is making a lot of money with merchandise, and now Gibbs has a great driver with 5 wins already this season. Rick Hendrick loves money first and foremost, and he is getting plenty of that, and Gibbs wants talent first and foremost, and he is getting that.

  13. Although Rowdy is having a great year I have to say Jr got the better end of the deal. Kyle was already on a team with a car that was capable of winning, he made a lateral move. Jr moved up out of the junk that is DEI cars into something that gave him a good chance of running good.

  14. Lets see, 5 wins, lost respect, gained bad rep, no championships in any of the series, few commercials = less marketability, one souvenier truck? okay okay yes he can race any kind of car you put his tail in. The kids got tallent no doubt and is a joy to watch, but a better deal? Hmmmm.

    -vs-

18 Sprint cup victories, two back to back nationwide championships, respected by many, known as very humble and safe to race with. Very marketable with many commercials and 4 souveniers trucks at each race. Gives credit where it is due and knows it ain't all about him, does countless things for others off the track and helps other drivers get a chance at sprint that otherwise may never even had a second look. Has his own history with many of the other drivers, team owners and track owners in NASCAR, because he grew up in, not watching it.

I think both HMS and JGR got what they wanted as did the guys in the cars. They are both at the top of their sport this year and doing well and happy. We could learn alot from them both, especially on how to, and how not to act.

  15. kyle busch did.

I used to race, on a very low level.. but either way you look at it the best drivers get the best equipment. Kyle Busch and Casey mears got the c**p that was left over from Johnson and Gordon. Same with jj yeley at JGR. Anyways, I now feel that since JGR Realized he had someone actually talented that KBusch gets all the stuff now at that camp. Havinga  3 car team makes it easy. Look at hendrick. Gordon/Johnson/DaleJr compared to Mears.

  16. I think it's been a win/win situation for all involved personally.

Both drivers are satisfied with their new teams, both owners are satisfied with their new drivers, perfect swap!

edit: After further thought, and some counseling, I respectfully change my opinion, Kyle got the better deal!

He's the points leader, he's got 5 wins after 16 races, and Rick Hendrick is probably kicking his own @ss every single time he see's that #18 doing a victory burnout!!

And I for one think Kyle should take his bow in the direction of one Rick Hendrick..

I feel better, thanks counselor, how'd I do?

    *me, too*

  17. Way to early to tell. Both look good.

  18. Kyle Busch the driver of the #18 Toyota did for sure.I can't wait until he visits Japan, He may become bigger than Godzilla.

  19. The real question is who got the worst deal, Jeffie boy or Tony Stewart?

  20. Kyle in the short run. But Dale Jr will have a championship within the next 5 years at Hendricks. I honestly dont see Rowdy ever winning a championship.

  21. Theres something more then Kyle busch just switching teams.  Nobody just randomly wins alot of races in one year when they couldn't win more then one in years past.  Don't tell my that it's just his "talent" when you have Tony Stewart, and Denny Hamlin on the same team who both have proven to be better then Kyle in past years.  toyota deffinatly has enough money to grease the palm of NASCAR.  Good example, this past week at sonoma when Juan was leading and kyle was in second, greg biffle spun out on top of the hill, that yellow falg should have came out when Greg started to go around, but it just so happened that when Juan slowed down to avoid the spin the yellow falg came out AFTER kyle got past him.  What better way for toyota to get a championship in it's second or third year then to have a new "hotshot" come toyota in his first year with the company logo on his car and on top of it all, win a championship.

  22. Tough question! I guess I'll say Kyle Busch because he has 5 wins.

  23. Look at tyhe num,bers

    Kyle 5 wins, points leader

Earnhardt, 1 (controversial) win, third in points

The answer is obvious except apparently for the kool-aid drinkers. Kyle by a mile!

  24. I agree as always with Winter Glory. They are both performing much better, and have won more races than they did all of last season. Jr is pretty much a lock to make the chase and Kyle is pretty much a lock to be the points leader going into the chase with all the bonus points he as gotten with his wins. I guess if you had to pick one you would have to say Kyle, because he has 5 wins and is the points leader. But i'm sure if you asked Jr., he would be more than happy with his improvement from last year.

  25. It was a win for each.

    Junior got the money,

    Kyle got the car,

    and D E I got the shaft.

  26. Kyle just has talent its not just his team

juniors status and improvements on and off the track have been really good.

Hendrick is doing really well hats off to them

  27. Both drivers are doing better with their respective teams. The chemistry is just better now! The move was best for both of them. Jr fans just had to wait a bit longer to see the results, but now that he has one win under his belt I expect many more. Kyle Busch came out of the garage steaming and will keep going in that direction.

  28. Like Gloria said

its 50/50 Jr havein a Great year an so is kyle

  29. Kyle busch has won 5 races and is leading the points. Dale Jr has won one race and is third in points. I would have to go out on a limb and say Kyle Busch

  30. Jr got a good deal but Joe Gibbs racing got the best deal.

  31. I think they both got the better end of the deal.

For Jr. his deal should have been owning DEI (but I wont get started on that) Because he could not own DEI; he was forced to go to another team.  He chose Hendrick.  I think has been real happy in equipment that works and engines that do not blow (how many went on him last year.) In addition to being happy with his team mates and really enjoying racing.

For Kyl. Busch, Hendrick did not seem to be the right fit for him because of some bad blood.  He went to Joe Gibbs racing.  Joe, had just got out of coaching the Redskins and was focusing on his Nascar team completely.  He acquired Kyl. Busch and I think he tought him how to calm down a little and let him really open up his talent for racing. (look at him now)

If I had to say who got the better end of the deal I would have to say Busch because Earnhardt should have been full owner of DEI...
