Who had a BETTER civilization? the Egyptions or Mesopotamians?

Question

Egypt was isolated and did a lot of trading with eachother...

BUT...

Mesopotamia was NOT isolated and came in contact with other people....so not only was there trade, there was conflict!

I think it's important that a civilization has CONFLICT because it advances them more. But what do you think? Which civilization, from what you know, do you think did better? Who was more developed?

I AM TALKING ABOUT THE VERY FIRST CIVILIZATIONS...ANCIENT TIMES...

not sure there is answer in terms of lasting effects egypts left us pyramids the babyloninans ( hammurabi ) gave us  the basis of modern law

The Mesopotamians had plumbing and proper waste removal in their houses, and didn't just dump it into the streets or dig a hole in the corner like many other cultures before them, OR AFTER them...

So, they knew the basics of sanitation, that we Westerners didn't figure out until the 1800's.

I would definatly say that the Mesopotamians were more advanced. Mostly because with sanitation, the overall lifespan and livlihood of a people is dramatically better.

some conflict is unavoidable -- we're only human and ever since we settled down and started developing agriculture and animal husbandry, private property has become more important than sharing and cooperating for the great good.  

Both civilizations had much going for them.  My judgment would be to choose the one that is more egalitarian and less warmongering.

The Egyptians were more advanced than the Mesopotamians were and what we know about the Mesopotamians is still very limited compared to what we know about the Egyptians.  Let's face it not too many people can read Chuniaform and our best preserved copy of the Epic of Gilgamesh was destroyed when the Baghdad museum was looted.
