  1. Hopkins hands down.  I had nightmares for weeks after watching Silence of the Lambs (saw it when I was like 14-15)

  2. This is a tough question.  I can remember Hannibal Lecter telling Agent Clarice Starling that a census taker once tried to test me.  I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti, then doing his lips like he was slurping or sopmething.  Very chilling!  In Cape Fear which is a remake once done by Robert Mitchum, DeNiro after getting beat on for a while by those thugs hired to silence him, turned the table and beat them to a pulp with a pipe in his hand as the counselor was hiding  behind that dumster saying Counselor, is that you?  Could that be you?  Also very chilling.  I loved both of these movies.  I have to unfortunately give this one a tie as both characters were chilling and very believeable.

  3. Anthony Hopkins' role was definitely more cunning; Robert De Niro's role was an excellent psycho bent on revenge - both fabulous movies!

  4. HOPKINS 4 Sure.  No doubt.  He is the best in that, great actor.

  5. Hopkins...without a doubt.

  6. I have seen both movies, but the one that is most memorable is Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs. They are both great actors, but I think Hopkins was the more intimidating in this instance. I felt chills through me  as I watched him  do his little emotional/ psychological 'dance' with Clarisse--and the way he says her name, in sort of a drawn out whisper with a weird undertone. I felt disturbed for days after the first time I saw this movie. Anthony Hopkins is a phenomenal actor and always becomes his character.
