  1. They're too different for me to answer your question.

An accountant goes to college for three years and very often works in the industry as well, they are then AAT qualified, to be a chartered accountant is another couple of years through the ACCA, but there are lots of routes. It's pretty hard work, if nothing else because there's so much to remember. You need to be up on your politics and law as well, they go hand in hand. My partner is an accountant, personally I find it mind-numbingly boring but as far as he's concerned the world revolves around numbers so there you go. It can pay very well though, providing you're good at it.

Medicine is 5 years of med school then thrown in at the deep end. You usually pick a specialty then. You need to be incredibly good at science and maths, it's very competitive. To get into med school you need A's throughout GCSE and A Level, accountancy not so much, very few do A Levels, just level 2 AAT straight after gcse.

Again doctors can be on a high wage but it takes a lot longer to get there, plus there's a lot more stress in the job in my opinion.

Yes in both professions you can't get things wrong, there is no room for mistakes whatsoever, but at least as an accountant you don't have to worry about the people involved, just the numbers.

With either job, it takes years and a h**l of a lot of hard work to get to a well-paid professional level.

    Good Luck
