Both teams were dominating through the regular season, both were tested in early play off rounds before convincingly winning their rings. So who has a better chance to repeat?

  1. celtics

  2. Completly different sports!

    I say Red Wings

  3. I would say the Celts.  It's more common to see a first round upset in hockey than in basketball.   Since basketball isn't exciting, being that the scoreboard changes every 20 seconds or so, there's not as much emotion involved as with hockey.  Here's an example, which would make you more nervous?  Your city's basketball team on a 9-0 run, now down by 10, with 4 min. left to play in game 7?  Or, your city's hockey team down by 2, on a 5 on 3 powerplay, with 4 min. left in a game 7?   SC champs have had a hard time repeating also.  I believe the last two to repeat championships were the Wings and Pens.

It's just way easier to repeat in basketball than hockey.

  4. The Celts no question.

    1. They play in the weakest division in the weakest conference. So they have a good chance of going to the finals to play a team that has had to fight and claw it's way to the finals.

    2. The Red Wings on the other hand play in a tough playoff group that will wear them down and reduce their chance at making the finals. Also the eastern teams in the NHL are getting stronger which will make the finals more difficult for a western team to win.

  5. Celt's have a better winning tradition

  6. They both have a great chance. They both have tremedous talents and the talent gives in to the system they're in. You really have to wait until after all the free agent singnings/trades/draft to make any predictions.

  7. Detroit Red Wings have a better chance at Repeating

We are Dead last in Picks in the NHL Entry Draft.. We have the same team as last Yr We'll Definitally Win Again!

    GO WINGS! :D

  8. Celtics for sure...basketball players do not suffer from injuries nearly as much as hockey players do. Injuries do make a huge impact on all sports.

  9. The Red Wings...the Celtics are basketball, right?

  10. I haven't watched a Celtics game for about 10 years, so I'll go with the Wings.

  11. As much as I wanna give a sarcastic answer because this is the hockey section and not the basketball section... ahh I can't..

    Theres no celtics in hockey...

  12. I say none of them are going to repeat, but if anyone, the Wings

  13. Its easier to repeat in basketball because the best teams win 95% of the time.  Rarely are there significant upsets in basketball.  Hockey, however, is filled with untimely injuries, crazy bounces, and those stand-on-his-head goalies.

Detroit will probably be the best team in the NHL again next year, but they can get some crazy bounces like they did against Anaheim in 2007.

Another reason why hockey is much more enjoyable... Its less predictable.

  14. I would have to say the Celtics they don't take the beating the hockey players take. I hope its the Red Wings  though

  15. That's a tough call.  Good question.  If I'd have to guess I'd guess the Celtics just cuz I think the competition in the NBA is weaker and historically it's been easier to repeat in basketball.  But both teams are my early faves for the titles.

  16. I think both teams have a good chance of repeating. The Celtics and Wings are both extremely talented, I think that the Celtics have a better chance of winning again though.

  17. The Red Wings, what are the Celtics?

  18. thats like comparing apples and oranges, Two different sports I think the Wings will have a better chance if they stick together like glue I believe in my team but i know its a different NHL than in 1997-98.
