  1. Can I say both?

I'm pretty sure both teams have to have a good shooter for those jobs.

    o.O

  2. On average, I'd have to say the police sharpshooter, for a couple of reasons.

For one, they deal with more close quarters situations. They also have more at risk. When a police sharpshooter fires his weapon, he can be doing a number of things. He can be looking to shoot a weapon out of the hand of a subject, and doing so, he can't risk injury to the subject. His target may be a hostage taker, who has a hostage, and he can not risk hitting the hostage in this situation. There are most likely going to be more innocent bystanders in a police situation than there are going to be on the battlefield during war time. That reason alone is enough to consider that police sharpshooters may have better accuracy.

  3. many cops are former military

  4. The Swat officer is typically at a close range to his target ( less than 300 meters). The Marine sniper is usually greater than 500 meters and may be as much as 1500 - 200 meters. Guess it depends on your definition of "better shot".  Don't forget, the major difference between the police and the military is the police maintain order and are lethal only when absolutely necessary. The military on the other hand are almost always lethal. If I had to choose in a situation I'd go with the Marine every time because of training & superior weaponry.

  5. I guess it would depend in the setting ina  controlled urban enviroment it would be pretty close in a jungle or desert my moneys on the marine.

  6. The Marine!

Their training is constant. Not once or twice a year.

  7. They should be equally accurate. Sharpshooters are trained to make no mistakes, whether they are in the army or LAPD.

  8. i would put any one of my troops up against any swat sniper any day of the week of course you have to remember that most if not all of the really good police snipers started out as military snipers....but in the long run my marines can shoot the wings off a fly at 2000 meters and that's no joke!!!

  9. lol  the marine

  10. Police snipers (back in the day, anyway) usually train at 100 yards. Marine snipers, out to what, 1000 yards? One isn't necessarilty a better shot than the other, though. Both have to be proficient at their jobs, or someone dies. Period.

  11. us marine corps sniper

There trained to kill and to servive
