  1. Most colleges have an ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) office and/or a 504 office (reffering to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act).  According to federal law (ADA), if you have a disability, you must be given reasonable accomodations and modifications.  Most colleges that I have heard about are very accomodating to students with disabilities.


  2. I have a learning disability and in college. I could tell my academic advisor and my professors that I have a learning disability but my academic success would not mean the same if I did. The kind of support that I receive is my desire to prove to society that the disabled can actually do more in life than clean up after the "normal" people of society.

  3. Contact the counseling office, there are multiple resources available to anyone who has a learning disability at colleges. I have taken several classes with people who had a disability. One girl got extra time on exams, another was partially deaf and had an interpreter in class.

  4. I recieve extended time and seperate location on exams.  also i am allowed to use a tape recorder in my the classroom to tape lectures
