Who has a tried-prrof way of removing scratches from cd's if i don't have a scratch removing device?

I rent dvd's from this little place and they use turtle wax polish. Its not just regular old turtle wax. Its that brand, but something else. It works. They use that to remove scratches from their dvd's.

A cloth and cleaning solution. It always works. Tooth paste does not work.
