Who has been on a round the world trip before?

hey!

i am planning (when im older) a round the world trip when im older in my gap year, lasting a year. my living arangements wont be fancy, just a small cabin or motel room.

i was wondering, do you think it was worth it? how good on a scale from 1-10, how much did it cost? any regrets? any pointers?

any advise from anyone who had went round the world is greatly appreciated !!!! thnx

ive been to 98 countries took me 8 years it was the best!! try not to stand out from the crowd in aisian countries they dont like that, but are very friendly. you'll thank me!!! good luck!!!

doing it right now, sitting in australia in an internet cafe waiting for the rain to stop!

it's worth every penny but depending on where you're going it can be expensive for RTW flights and daily living.

we're doing usa, south america, nz, australia and asia so have a mix of expensive and cheap destinations and are spending about £75/day on average for the two of us

flights and insurance are on top of that

recon for a really good trip where you're not penny pinching and missing out on activities as you've not got the money (which kinda makes it pointless being away) you're looking at £15,000 per person.
