  1. Yup, Kevin Sheedy

  2. Not the greatest but worth a mention here, Ted Whitton.

  3. Brian Cousins

  4. Jimmie Hitchcock.

Keven Sheedy did what he did , for himself , no-one else.

  5. Tom Hafey.

Was the greatest & still is.

Gave his whole to Aussie Rules

  6. To me it will always be Teddy Whitten....

  7. WARRICK CAPER , DIPPA , BRERATON . JACKO . LOCKET , MODRA . PETER MATERA , CAREY ,ETC ETC ETC ,  THE FANS , THE UMPIRES , COACHES , THE FOOTY SHOW , WHERE DO WE STOP.ITS SUCH A GREAT GAME

  8. I agree that Sheeds has controibuted to the game - but he has contributed most of that to Essendon

I nominate Ross Oakley then Wayne Jackson as the greatest servants to the AFL.

Demetriou is now benefiting from the foundation these two men have laid down for him.

He was appointed the CEO of the VFL in 1986 and set out plans to nationalise the competition.

In 1990 the VFL was renamed to AFL with the inclusion of the Crows into the line up.

    .

  9. Kevin Sheedy cares about the game. The AFL commission needs to send Andrew the Rocket Scientist his walking papers and put in Sheedy as CEO of the league.

Kevin Sheedy cares about the game. Andrew played for North and Hawthorn, his only connection to the game.

  10. Sheedy.

Not only has he been outstanding as a player and coach, but he has integrated minority groups into the process - indigenous, women, overseas interests and so on.

After which it would have to be Barassi for his playing, coaching and publicity skills.

Whitten? No. Excellent player, so-so coach, as a person had very limited views(witness his hatred of interstaters).

Mind you, if this question is asked in the year 2030, I may be tempted to say James Hird, who has a great potential for progressing the game.

  11. I agree with them, SHEEDY.

Because he helped the game go nation wide and helped the aborigonals into the game.

  12. I would Say Kevin Sheedy, he has done a lot for the game of Aussie Rules

  13. yea i agree with ultamate sheeds has changed the way footy is played also half the blockbuster type games are of his making

  14. Servant?- Yes Sheed's comes to mind but there are many of them, every club has them from boot studders to trainers, some spend their whole life at the one club.

ron barrassi is another, plenty of them.

  15. 1. Brian Cousins

    2. Daniel Kerr

    3. GrahamCornes

    4. Byron Pickett

    5. Barry Hall

  16. The die-hard fans who support their teams through thick and thin and are ever faithfull to the cause.  Couldn't exist without them.  It is their love of the great game that keeps it all ticking along.

  17. Kevin Sheedy

  18. It would be a three way tie between Kevin Sheedy,  Leigh Matthews and Ron Barassi.

  19. I would say its a tie between Sheedy and Barassi both have a passion that has bought so much to the game we love.

  20. yea sheeds
