  1. I loved it 20 years ago.  Too touristy now.  Still a good place to be, but not the town it was.

  2. i live in byron, loove it :P

  3. It was...an experience. There are certainly some lovely aspects to Byron, the beaches are fantastic, great shops, great cafes, nice people. However, and maybe I am just really innocent, the drug culture in that whole area was a bit of a shock to me. And the public toilets were some of the most disgusting I have ever seen, they were really messy, and it was obvious that people had been doing drugs there.

But, my last visit was a couple of years ago, maybe it's not like that anymore. I know a lot of people who love it there, and I still had a good time. Good enough that I went there several times, so I guess I was able to ovecome my aversion to some of the negative aspects of the area.

  4. I've never been there....sorry

  5. Visit there occasionally, really when not able to avoid it, or, when take others up there so they can have a look around.

BTW,   for <25 and looking to party on is probably a pretty good place ;-)

Am living south of there, close to river, where is quieter and a lot less expensive, listen to the long term ongoing debate as to which beach is best for swimming, diving and or surfing ;-)

Really, each person needs find what they looking for or find people who like the same things and see what they thought.

Would recommend go there at least once in your life, after all it is the easternmost point of mainland Australia, so easy to find on the maps ;-)

  6. I don't like it myself and think it's vastly overrated, but my 23 year old daughter and her friends think it's fantastic and often go there from Brisbane.
