Who has been to Grenada?

It was an absolutely beautiful island but the people were very rude, unfriendly and I didn't feel safe. I felt very safe at all other islands I visited

I have visited there twice and have found the locals to be quite friendly. They are very grateful to Americans for ejecting Castro troops out of their island. Like so many Caribean islands, they are very, very poor and are struggling after being hit by a lot of hurricanes recently. Why did you feel unsafe in Grenada?

I went to Grenada in December, and honestly, I didn't have too much of a bad time.  Alot of the vendors try to hustle you, but you have to negotiate with them.  Plus we had someone with from the island who were with us.

I would go again.

More than 30 years ago I spent a lot of time in Grenada when I was crewing on a privarte yacht running between Grenada and St. Vincent.  Grenadians are great but it does take some time to get to know them.  Maybe you just ran into the wrong people.

I was just there and it was horrible.  Pot holes so big that I almost fell into one on the sidewalk.  I went there on a cruise I just got back from.  We left port and only made it to one store which some guy came in threatening the owner telling him he was going to break his face.  That is one island I will never visit again.  No offense but people kept comming up to us offering us rides and not once did we see police.  We spoke to others who took an excursion provided by the ship which was a tour and they said the guy drove horribly and he was like playing chicken with the other cars.  When we were trying to get back to port we couldn't even cross the street the cars were speeding and they wouldn't even give us a chance.  The second we left port we turned right back around and went back into port.

Port had stores but they were wicked expensive.  A lot of people had a great time on our cruise and we had a great time too but more than half the people that went on the cruise did not like Grenada.
