They are "meatier" in that they have more potato to them.  I also give them kudos for dumping partially hydrogenated oils in their fryer's more than 2 years ago (their suppliers is a different story).  McDonalds still uses it unless they are required not to by law.  Burger King still uses it unless they are required not to by law.

Wendy's did get hit awhile back though because french fries come to the restaurant fried twice.  One at the factory, and the second time at the store.  They have switched their restaurants over, but the supplier hasn't yet made the switch (as of one year ago, I haven't heard if they've completely switched over yet).  So you're still getting a dose of trans fat.
