  1. i bought a semi truck off e-bay a few years back. before bidding i called the ppl (a vehicle liquidation place) and talked with them. they agreed and i placed a deposit in their bank thru wire transfer and then flew to look at it with the understanding beforehand that if it wasn't what they said it was, my deposit would be immediately refunded and no harm no foul.

it turned out 2 b exactly as they had presented it and i bought it.

the only problem i had with it was their detail guy was TOO thorough...he armoralled EVERYTHING...and i mean EVERYTHING...including the pedals and floormats...stopping at that first red light was questionable at best when my feet literally slid right off the clutch and brake and across the floormats!!!  made my heart flutter just a tad, lol!

call and talk with them. get the vin number and pay the measly amount and have a car fax done so u have no surprises there. if u r at all unsure, then just say no and look 4 something more local.

some have had good experiences including me, many more have had bad experiences...but then again u can have that same ratio at a local dealership or with a local person...

the old saying still holds true..caviet emptor; let the buyer beware.

    good luck and GOD bless.

  2. do not send any money or commit to a purchase without looking and driving any car from anywhere --- even down the block or on the net ---- some of the sellers on the net are not always truthful about the car they are trying to sell and then some are straight about their sales --- your money was not easy to save to buy a car and I suggest an '''in person inspection before payment"""

  3. do not buy a car online because they just might rip u off.

  4. My boyfriend just bought 3 vehicles online; a Chevy truck, a Saturn, and a motorcycle. He purchased them through Ebay with the intent on refurbishing and reselling them at a profit. 2 were from individuals and 1 was actually a dealership. All 3 were great prices, but all 3 also needed a LOT of engine or electrical work or both to be able to even register them, with the DMV, let alone resell them. Although he bought them at significantly lower than Blue Book value, the money he has put into repairs has made it so that he will be lucky if he breaks even. Most likely he has lost money. They are smaller vehicles, so maybe with the way the gas prices are going, he might still be able to make a profit. I wouldn't recommend buying a car online. You can't have someone evaluate the car's condition first.
