You know not of me

Yet you accuse me of stealing words

Whose words would you have me covet?

Have I not said more than enough for one man?

Do I not say more than anyone truly cares to hear?

Am I not the one stripped of protection walking before your arrows?

Is the putrid essence of my tormented life a fabrication that any man would wish to own?

Please, favor me this?

Well, I've never seen anything of yours that remotely looks like someone else's. Your writing is very distinct. I think people who accuse you are mainly just using the anonymity of the Internet to bait you--it's annoying but meaningless to those who know the facts.

They are shot over your head at the hovering vultures that would swallow your words and leave us barren of your talents.

I've had the same accusation aimed at me a while back and it made me very angry. Then I calmed down enough to realise every one of my words have been written before in the history of the universe, but not usually in the combination I choose for them. Swat the mosquitos and keep going. If they know you bite back they will keep nibbling at you.

Poets steal all their words from the dictionary and put them together in ways that have never been done before--as you do.

Some of the poets on this site are so brilliant, non-poets cannot believe their poems are original works of art.
