  1. It depends. If he can establish paternity, then he can ask for at least some custody of the child. But normally the mother has full custody until a custody arrangement can be determined by the court.


  2. Mom will have custody. If the father wants custody, he must establish paternity either through signing a paternity affidavit or getting a DNA test done. Then he must go to court to get a custody order for visitation or joint custody.  If the mother refuses to acknowledge the father, he has rights. He can have a paternity test court ordered and have his name added to the birth certificate.  

  3. the mother always automatically has full custody of her child until the courts tell her otherwise. even if the dad signs the birth certificate.
