yes i have eaten one, although i later found out that itv was mouldy when i originally thought that it was just a plain blue egg,. i had to be hospitalised and i was so ill, i chucked mosyto f my guts up and later found out it contained bird flu. then i was in hospital for 2 weeks and had a major operation and now im on tablets...

I've eaten a blue-coloured egg. This particular one was laid by a Cotswold Legbar hen. In terms of taste, there is very little difference between a blue egg and another type of hen, assuming they're both free range, the shell colour is more to do with breed of hen than anything else.

Well, I've had an egg from a blue shell. The egg looked pretty much like any other egg and cooks the same.

Turns out there's two true colors of eggshell which are blue and white. Brown eggs have a brown cast over white (and one can tell if a chicken lays a brown or white egg by their ear color -- white ears = white eggs). Green eggs are blue with a brown cast. The way to tell the true color is what color they are inside.

Robins lay beautiful blue eggs.

But the chicken that lays the blue eggs is the Araucana from South America. There are derivatives of this breed called the Americauna (beautiful birds with great personalities) and Easter Eggers (which are basically chicken mutts with Araucana lineage). The chickens who lay blue and green eggs often have the green, blue or slate colored legs instead of yellow.

I have tasted one once and was told the chicken was from South America. I only found out the egg had a blue shell after I've eaten the omelet. Could not taste any real difference from regular eggs.

Some ducks, and other fouls lay blue-ish coloured eggs. If the actual yolk or egg white is blue, don't touch it, it's rotten!!!

The only blue egg I've ever eaten though, I peeled off the blue foil layer before I ate it... called an easter egg lol.

eggs with blue shells are just like normal eggs inside.

Some Aracarna and Ancona's lay blue eggs, as do some ducks.
