Enslaving the africans for hundreds of years, putting Japanese Americans in internment camps, massacring millions of indian inhabitants, segregation, refusing Irish and African ancestors jobs, our constitutional rights being trampled on, women's rights practically non existent not too long ago, how did it all happen in the "land of the free"?

  1. I've been free my entire life. To pursue my dreams, make my choices, build a life. I feel sorry you are stuck in the distant past.

Democracy is not perfect. It had to evolve. It's better than any other alternative you can name.

  2. I pissed on a tree the other day and it was very releaseful.  yes...the preceding word is new according to the the YA spell check, but i will leave it the way it is for the sake of journalism.

  3. I had freedom of speech. I protested the war. I protested US involvement in trade arms against Eithopia for the slaughters of Somalians.

I'm sure Iran has that. Wait...killing of children even they defend themselves over rape.

  4. Please move to Cuba, China, or Iran.

Make the same statement about their govt.

Then come back and make the above statement again.  If you are still alive, you will have a new attitude about what freedom is.

  5. Thank you for the short but sweet history lesson. Now back to 2008...

  6. nobody alive at this time has ever endured that . Nobody was sold off in a slave trade by their African chief. Nobody lives in primarily segregate areas. We celebrate an Irish Holiday we acknowledge just about every race. And sure it may have been "not so long ago" .the people responsible are dead, nobody owes anybody anything . We are born here as citizens and we have rights as citizens , and the things you speak of  are history . We can learn from the mistakes of the past , it is time to stop holding descendants responsible.

  7. When repubs have a choice between their money or the common good, the money wins every time...

  8. Today we all have freedom.  But only in the USA.  Everywhere else people continue to be enslaved.  There is no peace through submission to unjust laws.

  9. I have always had freedom. You must since we are reading trash.

No invitations were issued to live in the USA - anyone not happy feel free to leave us & leave us alone in peace.

  10. The US has given me freedom every single day of my life!

  11. Men who are not African, Japanese, Indians or Irishmen.

  12. Good point. Looks like we've all had to make sacrifices over the years. Yet, we all stay. The U.S. must be doing something right, or we'd have to build walls to keep people in. Instead we need them to keep people out.
