Who has filed bankruptcy since the new laws are in place and what was your experience?

I did it in 2004 so that won't help you.  The laws are so much stricter now.  Have you tried every other avenue?  Do NOT do Consumer Credit Councelling Service as I know too many people that did and it just looks like a bankruptcy on your credit report anyway so does you NO good.  I thought they could help me and after being in the office for over an hour, they could save me only $40/month!  Have you tried working something out with each creditor?  Sometimes they'll take something over nothing and just a smudge on credit report.  Good luck.

I have not filed yet, I know the laws vary from state to state and finding a bankruptcy lawyer is getting harder because it doesn't pay as well as it use to and is more difficult to get.
