  1. I did with all three.  In my opinion, protecting them from these potentially fatal childhood illnesses is far more important than the possible side effects.  I mean, children in less fortunate countries are dying everyday because they don't have access to these vaccines.  I don't want to risk it.  I think that if people choose not to vaccinate their children, they should at least donate their child's vaccinations to children in need in those countries.  Does that make sense?  lol

  2. mine has been.  im not sure about the controversy but i have a very low immune system and now a days they came out with more stuff to protect.  i didn't want to take a chance of him getting my problems.  but im not gonna put down anyone who doesn't want to because they are very scary with fevers and stuff.  every baby takes to the shots differently.  but heres my question.  if you decide not to how does you baby get into school later on down the line?  just out of curiosity.

  3. well, yes i did

i am a RN; i had read all the scary c**p and did some research on my own as well as using my own brain....talked to my ped who is always well read and up on all the latest studies and info and i trust him immensely....he has kids, i asked if he would vaccinate his kids right now and he said 'absolutely'

i also think that with the amt of travel going on on a daily basis to and from 3rd world countries, and all the freaked out parents who are not vaccinating their kids on schedule that there is more of a risk if she doesn't take them , as most diseases are contagious before the person shows symptoms or even knows they are sick; then i thought about how dense our population has become especially on the east coast, where we live and the big cities that would attract travelers....so the travelers, plus the unvaccinated kids, just came up to too much of a risk to me; there is no longer any traces or mercury in the vaccines, doc says their is no legitimate current research that suggests a reliable link to autism or any other disorders....and hey, we were all vaccinated as kids with the mercury traced vaccines....i think it is yet another bunch or morons trying to scare the daylights out of ppl and they are creating a dangerous situation....so my gal has been and will continue to be vaccinated on time; i couldn't live with myself if she picked up a debilitating illness from a shopping cart or some stupid but well meaning stranger reinserting her passy (which has happened once, totally unexpected, and really quick, bc i watch  my girl..we now have a cover to go over her carrier to prevent anyone touching her...)

  4. I am still torn on the issue. My baby had "some' of the shots. But I am supposed to take her in for her 12 month shots and am leaning towards not taking her. On one hand you have the possibility of autism and the other the possibility of a serious disease. If my child gets the serious disease because I chose not to take her in, I will be devastated. But the same as if she would become autistic. It seems to be around the 18 month mark that a child has the possibility to develop autism because of the shots. So maybe when she is 2 I will have them done. Until then I will just pray that nothing happens.

  5. Of course I have.  There is not enough evidence based studies that prove vaccines are more harmful than beneficial.  At this point it's all speculation.

Imagine if we didn't have vaccines.  We would have so many children die before their first birthday... this is how it was 50-100 years ago don't forget.

I sure would feel stupid if I chose to not vaccinate and my child died of one of the viruses I could have protected against.

  6. The vaccines are verry important some children who do not get the vaccines can get verry sick i thin it is one thing every parent should do

  7. I've vaccinated my baby because mass vaccinations are the only way we've been able to eradicate certain diseases and deadly illnesses.  Not interested in worrying about my baby catching polio or measles.

  8. My baby is only 5 weeks old but she is scheduled on sept 11 to get vaccinated. I know its a lot of vaccines and probably going to make her cry for awhile which will hurt to see, but I believe its whats best 4 her. In 1983 when i was a baby and got vaccinated they had mercury and all the "bad' things in the vaccines, since the late 90s/00's, those "bad" things like mercury etc that were believed to attribute to autism from vaccines, have been taken from the vaccines. yet autism still exists just as commonly. so I dont believe vaccines cause autism. and even if theres the remote chance it does, if I had to choose between my daughter having autism or some horrific crippling disease like polio or measles that could KILL her, I would choose autism! I would never want her to have that either but at least it wouldnt kill her!

and yes some ppl argue "oh polio, measles, mumps etc have been eradicated in the us" to some extent yes, but what about all the visitors and immigrants that come here? where vaccines aren't mandatory or available in their country? and actually measles and mumps are fairly easy to catch and with a young infant why take the chance? I just feel much safer getting my child vaccinated than not. And I think having her vaccinated at a young age is a good thing bc young infants have slightly underdeveloped immune systems and when they get sick, they get it worse than older children or adults do.

  9. All 4 of my boys were vaccinated according to the recommended schedule and the baby I'm carrying now will be also.  None of them ever had any type of problem with it.
