Who has more authority? A mall cop or a Wal Mart security guard?

Inside their mall or Walmart they can detain you, shackle you, interrogate you and execute you if you pose a threat to the security of a store or the country.  But they are out ranked by a school crossing guard and a meter maid.

Neither, other that one is armed and the other is not. and no they do not have the authority to access the patriot act, and or criminal history data. That information is restricted to Law Enforcement personnel only. a private citizen including a "mall cop" or security guard do not have that right or access legally. They do have the right to detain you until real police officers show up to arrest you or let you go. You can access the information on a person through the freedom of information act but you have to go to each local where you think the person may have committed a crime and jump through their hoops to get the info.
