  1. Obama has never been a PTA member, nor has he served on a small town's city council.  Not to mention being mayor of the largest meth producing town in Alaska.  Isn't the answer obvious?

  2. Palin by far has more political experience than Obama, she has been in the political field for several years now. And as a governor she has had  what it takes to be a leader not a follower as such path as senators have. Obama has not had this type of leadership as a senator, especially being his first term. And she is not one that had the Silver Spoon she grew through the working class people.

  3. It's really irrelevant.  The question about her is "Who do we want at the helm if our president can't run the country? Biden or Palin?"  Biden wins that argument every time!

  4. I'm a McCain supporter, and this was a bad fumble.  Due to McCain's age, he needs someone ready to step into the Presidency suddenly.  I've seen nothing in Palin's resume that qualifies her.  Maybe in another 4-6 years as a successful governor, but not now.

If he wanted a woman, he could have picked Hutchinson.

As thin as Obama's resume is, hers is thinner.

  5. Barack Obama has more expirience for sure.

This is a good thing, because now McCain wont be able to make the expirience arguement. Obama has Joe Biden with him who has been in the senate for 25 years.

  6. Palin, you need to research this. You are wrong!

  7. Because she is a female many doubts her experience.

  8. The question should be who has more executive experience?  Obama or Palin?  Then the choice is a little clearer.  Time in legislature isn't necessary qualifications for leadership...in fact, most senators and congressmen are simply sheep that do the bidding of the party whips.  Just look at the way they vote...doesn't that tell you something?  Anyway, I'd rather have someone with executive experience a heartbeat away from the presidency than some lifelong politico who's best years were simply marching to the beat of the Democrat drum.

  9. Palin....plz. someone let me know what is the population in Alaska ? lol

  10. Palin has more executive experience than Obama and Biden combined.

Also, Obama the Inexperienced is going for the Presidency, not the Vice-Presidency.

Actually, I wish Palin were the Presidential nominee.

  11. I agree... she is not even living in the 48 contiguous states, so she hasn't being exposed to much...very limited life experience for me.

Do you know Alaska's population? 684,000 (#47 in the nation)...they don't know what are the challenges the whole nation is facing.

  12. PALIN.

  13. An important question now is, do you want inexperience in the number one spot, or the number two.  Very interesting election this is.

  14. So it's Obama Vs. Palin?

  15. Probably Obama but McCain has much more experience then either one and picked Palin based on her skill not her experience. He also picked her because she can relate to the average person and has shown she can hand out reform.

  16. McCain made a great choice picking Palin. Not just a wise choice, but for having your campaign stay tight lipped on this and for carrying out a misdirection campaign reminiscent of Operation Fortitude. I've stated numerous times on this board that I was holding out hope for Palin as a darkhorse, but I was starting to have my doubts.

This pick will accomplish the goal of uniting the Republican party and giving conservatives a positive reason to vote for McCain instead of just against Obama, providing energy to the campaign in the process. Palin is a smart, popular enthusiastic conservative with a widely praised track record of reform and battling corruption. She’s been an elected official for longer than Obama, and while young has at least some executive experience, which certainly trumps Obama's brief Senatorial flirtation as a qualification for the Presidency.

As a bonus, this creates a trap that Obama has already fallen into by his campaign making "experience" an issue.  I think that's a debate the Republicans are comfortable having.

    Well done.

  17. JR4NOTAX, better not say anything if you dont have anything in the least bit smart to say.

  18. Define National. National as in working in public service for a small town in Illinois? Or being a freshman senator as his first real job ever?

Besides how does that make it national experience?

Palin's had city council, mayor, and governor. Which in my view is far more important than senator.

National as in Obama thinking we have 7 states? Or the fact that he and his advisers think that Hawaii and Alaska are not as important because they're not on our land here? Are they not Americans?

  19. Constitutional law professor, practicing attorney (constitutional law), 11 years in public office.  Obama has managed a national campaign -- remarkably well -- and is well versed in economic and foreign policy.  Anyone who questions his grasp of economics is badly in error -- as an economist, I have never heard a politician display the depth and breadth of understanding of economic issues (and an extremely detailed understanding) that Obama has.

Palin -- and it doesn't make sense to make the comparision since she is running for a largely symbolic office with no actual decision making role -- was mayor of a town with roughly the population of Obama's law school.  She was head of the Alaskan Oil and Gas ethics committee, and is currently under investigation for ethical violations herself, and has been in an executive role for a year and a half.  No national political experience of any kind.  Her Bachelor's degree in Journalism (University of Idaho, Tier III school, unranked nationally, 77% acceptance rate) is not the same as a degree directly related to the laws regarding the executive branch and the Constitution (Harvard, Tier I school, ranked #1 nationally, 9.2% acceptance rate).   Note that the population of Alaska is roughly equivalent to the population of two larger Chicago suburbs.  90% of her experience has been as a mother of five -- nothing wrong with that, but it is not really political experience.  She will need to be coached extensively (as she will be) on all areas of 1. the role of the executive branch, 2. foreign policy, 3. economic policy, and 4. domestic issues -- all areas which she has never needed to have any familiarity to perform her job.

You're absolutely right -- there is no comparing the experience of these two.

  20. Palin by far Obama's camp is grabbing at straws.

  21. The only item on Palin's record is that she was president of her high school ASB, and mayor of a town of 6000....her governorship is very recent...

  22. STOP ALREADY!!!!! READ THE PAPERS!  WATCH THE NEWS! LISTEN TO THE RADIO! CHECK THE INTERNET!  ATTENTION EVERYBODY!!!!  PALIN IS NOT THE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE!!!!  JOHN MCCAIN IS!!! WHY ARE YOU COMPARING PALIN TO OBAMA????? DOES THIS SAY YOU REALLY DON'T WANT MCCAIN, THAT YOU'LL TAKE EVEN A GUN-TOTING, SLED BOBBING, SOCCER MOM FOR THE REPUBLICAN CHOICE OVER AN OLD MAN LIKE MCCAIN???   STOP ALREADY!!!! COMPARE APPLES TO APPLES AND PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE TO PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE! COMPARE MCCAIN TO OBAMA AND PALIN TO BIDEN!  OH THAT MEN HAD EYES TO SEE AND EARS TO HEAR....

  23. those years of cummunity organizer are invaluable!

She has executive experience, something Obama will never have!

  24. Both are about equal when it comes to experience, but I have to say Barrack, considering he governs a state that isn't miles away from American civilization. Also, Illinois seems to be better economically than most states right now, and I think that says a lot.

BTW: The PTA is completely irrelevant to a person credentials to serving in any political position other than your local neighborhood watch.

  25. I am a Repulican and I would say that between Barack Obama and Sarah Palin, Obama has more experience and here is why;

    1. Obama has more experience in state goverment. Palin has served less than two years as Governor of Alaska while Obama was a Illinois State Senator from 1997 to 2004 for eight years and Illinois is more well known than Alaska.

    2. Obama has served at the national/federal level for four years while Palin has no prior experience at the national/federal level.
