Don't know for sure but I would say it must be F1 by a mile. The money involved there is unbelievable......Just checked Wikipedia and it says it's the world's most expensive sport.

The for sure answer would have to be nascar. They have more teams, more sponsors and more of a following. Granted formula one has great sponsors and more of an international following but the competition is not there, you have 20 guys and most of the time the margin of victory is a mile so its not exciting therefore less product sells not as much tv coverage and less money

formula one. cuz the cars are much more expensive than nascar and when michael schumacher drove, he was the richest athlete in the world.  so id say formula one by far.  the also have better cars and tracks :)

The Annual Budget for Ferrari, Toyota, Mclaren last year were between 550-600 Million USD. BMW were 500 Million USD.

For the same year the top Nascar teams budget was 175 million USD. Only three teams have a budget over 100 million USD in Nascar. Most running between 40-80 Million  USD.

Mclaren were fined 100 Million USD in 2007, which is more than 80% of Nascar teams budgets.

Formula one is the highest profile motor racing series in the world.

As a result the budgets involved are immense and advertising time and space are most expensive.

It's come down to the point where only the major motor companies can afford to run an F1 team,and then only with some really good sponsorship from other major companies.

Believe me, if you had money you might consider hiring the right people, finding some backing and starting a NASCAR team, you would not consider entering F1 unless your dad's name is Honda.
