  1. There are three steps to getting rid of centipedes, regardless of the type.

    1. SANITATION: Be sure that there are no water leaks. Remove all mulch and leaf litter within one foot from the house, at least... 4 feet is better. Trim all bushes within 4 feet at least a few inches off the ground so you can see under it.  This will help keep the ground dry and reduce the food (other bugs) for the centipedes.

    2. MECHANICAL EXCLUSION: Check the weatherstripping around all your doors and windows. Replace any that need it. Check for gaps around the pipes entering your home from the outside, like the gas line, cable, electric, and seal them with caulk. Try Big Stretch, as it lasts much longer.

    3. PESTICIDE APPLICATION: This is usually a necessity with pest control. However, to supplement your treatment, add a bunch of those sticky mouse traps (get the kind that fold up like a tent, not the flat black ones that have seeds in the middle... that way if you step on one, you ruin the trap and not your shoe). A captured centipede is just as good as a dead one.

Tip: The glue on the mouse traps cannot be removed with soap and water. Use oil or lotion first, though oil (cooking oil) works best.

Give it time, too. Centipedes can go a long time without food if they have water.
