Who has switched from zoloft to cymbalta

i am now on my 7th day of cymbalta 30mg. switched from zoloft 75mg and have had no problems other then just a lil tired but who isn't when you have two kiddos.i am taking this for severe anxiety. my question is how long does it take for the zoloft to be gone from your system when you switch medications. i do like i said feel good but have my down times now and then like it is the zoloft. if anyone knows please comment.

  1. Zoloft is out of your system in 24 to 48 hours, but withdrawal symptoms can last four to six weeks.  Being on another medication should shorten that time period greatly.  Talk to your doctor or pharmacists for specifics on what to expect.


  2. I have never tried either zoloft or cymbalta.  

  3. Normally when switching from any psychotrophic medicine to another, there is a very short period of minor side effects.  The Cymbalta should begin to kick in before the effects of the Zoloft are completely stopped.  Good luck, I really hope this helps with your anxiety.  I have been there.
