Who has taken the train from Los Angeles to San Francisco?

Was it a good trip?

Would you recommend doing it round trip for a vacation (versus driving)?

I did as a kid it was Scenic.Ya I would recommend to try it once we actually had to take a bus for the last 50 miles so I wish we had

looked into routes more and not ended up in the wrong place.

well techinally amtrak doesnt service "San Francisco "directory"

you have to detain in Oakland and then take a bus across

or you can detrain in San Jose and transfer to Caltrain for train service into

San Francisco

the direct train to Oakland is called the starlight from Los Angeles

you leave Los Angeles about 10:00am arrive San Francisco sometime
