I recently saw the same question I am asking a few minutes ago and the guy who asked the question said the Jags which aint bad and the answerer who got the best answer points said the Eagles. Now my feeling is that it is the Broncos. I know the Eagles have 4 Pro Bowlers but saying they have 4 Pro Bowlers doesn't technically mean as much as one may think considering you only get ranked among your Conference and not the NFL as a whole. Yes they are good, but as much as the Broncos underperformed last season they are in fact the best secondary. You cannot argue that Champ Bailey is the best CB in the game and if you say he got beat last season then look at everyone last season because everyone does in fact get beat. They got Dre Bly on the otherside. They also have Marlon Mcree and Marquand Manuel who are both rising stars and only going to get better. So therefore I will also say to look out for the Denver Defense this year because it will be much better than last.

And so I turn it to you all..... Who do yall think is the best Secondary?

  1. I would say The Raiders. This may come as a surprise but they should have a really good defense this year. They have Nnamdi Asomugha and DeAngelo Hall at CB and have a hard hitting saftey with Gibril Wilson and rising star Michael Huff. This should be a secondary to look out for.

  2. I would have to say the Indianapolis Colts.  Look at who's defense a majority of the teams you named off base their defense style on: the cover 2 developed by Tony Dungy.

Lovie Smith of the Bears learned it off Dungy, the Broncos copied the Colts, the Bucs kept Dungy's defense after they got rid of Dungy.  Mind you that Dungy took the Bucs from the perennial worst team in the NFL to becoming a winning team.  And the year after he left,  the Bucs win the Superbowl.  To me, that tells me Dungy got the Bucs to the verge and possibly the new coach inherited the glory of Dungy's hard work.

When Dungy got the Colts job they were about 3-13 under Mora.  The Colts already had a tough offense.  The difference was adding Dungy's defense.  Since he arrived, the Colts have won at least 12 games almost every season and basically made the play-offs almost every season.  He's already spurred off about 4-5 head coaches around the NFL that worked under him.

And you have to keep in mind where Dungy learned his defensive techniques.  He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers at the time when they were known for the Iron Curtain and won 4 Superbowls.

And I have to give him credit for taking players that most teams normally passed over and making star players out of them like Freeney and Sanders.  He used small speedy guys that most teams overlooked allowing him to get them cheap, but still provide a very tough defense.  Their defense for the last past several years was ranked normlly in the top 2 or 3.  And the one year they were ranked low, they stepped it up in the post season and won the Super Bowl.

If you look at the average number of wins for the past 5-6 seasons, the Colts are at the top of the list.  Only coach Landry has matched Dungy in consecutive 12 win seasons and if Indy has a 12 win season this year, Dungy will pass him.

  3. The Detroit Lions

    LMAOOOOO

  4. I didn't answer the last question, but did some research. The jaguars did add a guy named Harvey, and a guy named Groves, their history in College is something else. With the defense already set from last year, this may be a team to shut down the pass. only an observation.

  5. Eagles is good, prob the best. But the Cowboys and Buccs isnt too bad either.
