Bayless has been killing it in Summer League averging around 28pts i think... But he reminds me more of a 2 gaurd, if you would a young version of Ben Gordon and Devin Harris..

But monte is a really up and coming player too. His speed alone is redunkulous, but he is more of a scorer type player. He has yet to prove he can play the point for the duration of the game, and sustain that for a whole season. He is really good, but until Monte proves he can play the PG, not the scoring SG position. He will just be a solid player.

Bayless will be the future PG of the Blazers. And I cant believe how lucky they got him. Man the Blazers will have a legit team , and it all starts with this next season. Bayless doesnt need to start right away since they have a LOT of talent already, but give him 2-3 yrs and he will prove himself to be a starter.

Monta Ellis fer sure.  Each year he's been getting better and more physical.  You can see signs of him playing like Allen Iverson.  Bayless will be good, but Ellis is on his way to being a star

As of right now you have to go with monta ellis because he has already prooved he can average 20 a game in the NBA, and Bayless is barley doing that in summer league. So until Bayless prooves what he can do in the nba then you can put them in the same sentence.

there can be no comparison right now... Monta with 2 years under his belt compared to Bayless playing 4 summer league games... Summer league is no basis for players but Bayless does have talent... Bayless will do well in the NBA... but for sure with Monta now running the warriors his production will be well over Bayless.

Monta Ellis has the best  talent. He can score from almost anywhere on the court. He runs the floor good and can score really well in transition. Bayless will be good in a couple of years, but right now Ellis has the edge.

for you people saying that Ellis is WAY better you are wrong. Bayless is compared to guys like Arenas and Jay Williams and I think he has the tools to be better than both of them.

Bayless is a better shooter, defender, and he's just as athletic and quick.

The only reason Monta gets all of his points is because of their style of player. Run and gun. Any athletic player with good skills would score a lot...

Monta can have his stats, but Jerryd will have his rings.

Right now? Definitely Monta. Also, I think Monta is the better player than Bayless will be. Don't get me wrong, I like Bayless but its just that Monta is so cool, slick, smooth and silky. I think he is the 'guy' now for the Warriors. I suggest you watch out for him and Belinelli for the Warriors. They will be the catalyst this year with Baron bolting for Los Angeles.

I'd have to say Monta Ellis is better than Jerryd Bayless AT THE MOMENT.  Both of them are similar when it comes to having to defend them becausae if you leave them too much space they'll hit a jumper but if your too close they'll go right past you.  They both aren't afraid to go to the rim but Monta finishes more than Jerryd Bayless does.  When it comes to jumpers, Jerryd wins that category.  The only reason I say Monta is better is because he has more experience and hes had the time to grow as a player.  If you give Jerryd a few years, he'll be up there with Brandon Roy and Chris Paul.

he's proven himself by doing this in the NBA and he is still not even close to as good as he can be.  right now he is doing this mainly with his exceptional speed, dribbling, finishing and athletic abilities but think about if he adds some more muscle, a better shot and some range on his shot and maybe a little better playmaking and passing ability, he can be the next iverson easily!  bayless is definetely looking good in the summer league and i think he'll be a good NBA player but he's nowhere near monta ellis.

Monta Ellis runs circles around Bayless. For one I don't see Bayless shooting 53 percent in a season it's just never going to happen. Bayless is going to turn the ball over and isn't going to get a ton of minutes to start out because he still needs to develop. Ellis is a great passer and will become a great one because of his speed and his ability to finish at the rim. Ellis is a solid rebounder and he will be working on his 3 point range. Bayless I don't see even in a few years even close to the talent level that Ellis posseses. Bayless is pretty much a shooting guard in a point guard's body. He's a scorer not a distributor just look at his numbers 2 assists per game so far that's not good for a point guard just coming into the league.

I haven't ever seen Bayless play, but I've heard he's very good. I have seen Monta Ellis play, and he's very VERY fast, and he's an outstanding player, just underrated. And considering Jerryd Bayless hasn't played a single game in the NBA, (Summer League doesn't count, the best players don't play), I would say that Ellis has an edge over Bayless.

And to the person who said that Jerryd Bayless is compared to Gilbert Arenas, well Ante Tomic is compared to Pau Gasol, so it doesn't really matter. Comparisons are based on the style of play, not how good the players actually are.
