  1. fred dyer has the supposedly longest unbeaten record with 94 fights between 1908 & 1912, but most of these are not recorded

    julio cesar chavez went to   90 (89-0-1 + 74ko's)

    EDIT:

i just read from the ring boxing almanac (1996) that former flyweight champ jimmy wilde went unbeaten in his first 98 bouts, although boxrec says that it was 94 (92-0-2).

  2. This is to Steve U, I just wanted to point out that Rocky Marciano was 49-0.  Also I am unsure where it ranks but Julio Cesar Chaves was, I believe, 89-0  before he lost his first fight.  With that said he did draw with Pernell Whitaker when he was 87-0, I believe.

  3. In the heavyweight division I think Rocky Marciano retired undefeated [43-0] and until recently Nicolay Valuev was something like 40-0 until he lost to Ruslan Chagaev a couple of years ago for the belt.
