Walter Hagen, with 11 major wins. Hagen was a New Yorker who won on both sides of the Atlantic, winning the PGA Championships five times in the 1920s, as well as four Open Championships in Great Britain. In the previous decade he'd won the US Open twice, in 1914 and 1919, and Hagen left it until the 30s to win the Masters, taking victory in 1936.
