Who has the right to name the Natural Wonders?

I saw these so called new natural wonders and I personally would like to know what credentials these people have that makes them able to say what is a natural wonder and what isn't.

their method was to get the world to vote.  but only those with computer knowledge can do so.  this excludes million others.  but then its not easy.  

again it was sponsored by a multi billionaire. so he calls the shots! unfair too.  right?

maybe unesco, world heritage sites body and reps from each continent and as many ethnic and religious group shld also vote.  again, sheer numbers of one grp will overwhelm the others.

so there is no fair system.

the west still dominates as they hv the $$ and power

I would guess that all of the panel possessed the academic credentials and/or field experience which would make their opinions credible to the public.

It's obvious that you disagree with their selections.  And, that is your right.  Your knowledge base may be just as good as theirs.

However, their selections are biased opinions, just like yours.

The best part, to me, is that you choose to disagree with them and conjure up your own personal list.  At the least, the presentation induced you into thinking and caring about a subject which is usually off the mental radar.

And, that is a good thing.
