Who has to buy Worker Compensation Insurance? Employee or Employer?

The employer.  If the employer is trying to get out of it by calling you a subcontractor, they might be asking you to pay.  But it's the employer's cost.

The employer is required to carry worker's comp insurance for the employees, if the employer has at least X number of employees. In my state, it's three. If he has only two employees, worker's comp is not required.
