Who has turned out to be better Trindad or De La Hoya?

Who did you feel won their only fight?

I think their fight was close, either a draw or Oscar winning very slim.

I think history will put these two very close in the standings - both were two of the premier fighters for about 10 years, both had very impressive resumes and great skills - but very different approaches and styles.

De la Hoya had big names like; Whitaker, Quartey, Vargas, Hopkins, Mosely, Mayweather, Chavez, Gatti.

Trinidad; Whitaker, Vargas, Reid, Wright, Hopkins, Jones.

De la Hoya turned out to be more known for the fame and money he could generate, while Trinidad became one of the classic punchers.  In the end I don't think either created that much distance from the other - and while neither will ever be confused with one of the top pound for pound of all-time (and both caught more critisim than most for that), both provided the willingness to make the fights the public wanted to help sustain boxing when it looked to be on life support.

Oscar may have lost a few fights recently, but he has been in a few BIG fights recently, Trinidad's downfall was his inactivity during his "retirement" then trying to jump back in with the big boys.  Oscar has had a consistant flow of fights the last 5 years, maybe a little preocupied to win, but still in the thick of things.  I have to go with De La Hoya!

Oscar has had the better career from winning gold at the Olympics to winning belts in six weight divisions to being the most marketable fighter out there, that's why everybody wants to fight Oscar, Oscar gave away a couple of rounds at the start and end of fight against Tito, but when he fought he totally out boxed Tito, and i thought just won the fight

Oscar turned out to be more sucessuful , But i believe Trinidad turned out to be "better". He has less losses , more impressive wins and both fought just about everybody. Trinidad is usualy more exiciting to watch in the ring than oscar.

Won their only fight? uhh De La Hoya took a fall for Golden Boy Productions duh!...

De la hoya was easily more succesful in life because of his company and produces more fights... all around the more successful fighter... but he had a better record... i think

Oscar De La Hoya has proven to be better than Trinidad. We all saw De La Hoya winning their fight. He is the most popular man in boxing today, and can get 10 million dollars for fighting a bum off the street. Oscar still has it, and he still can turn back the clock and retire with a big bang beating Mayweather.

I think Oscar has turned out to be more successful in and out of the ring.  Not to mention the fact that he owns Golden Boy Promotions and is one of the top promoters in boxing today. Oscar fought the bigger fights and he is still currently fighting top contenders and champions in and around his weight division, while Trinidad can barely make 170 pounds anymore.  As for who I thought won their fight, I thought Oscar won a close fight because he outboxed the c**p out of Trinidad for the first half of the fight, but I was not all that upset when he lost the decision because he did it to himself- he let Tito off the hook and he LET him win the fight on the judges scorecards.

oscar does a better job against a master boxer then trinidad. look what happend against bhop. trinidad was shut uout by bhop and oscar was right their with him. oscar almost beat mayweatehr and he he aint  even in his prime anymore.
