Question:

Who has vomited while in labor?

I recently read some, not all, women tend to vomit as they are going through the final stages of labor right before they begin pushing. Did it happen to you? If so, did you feel better afterwards or was it a constant nauseous feeling the whole delivery?

  1. I did twice, and I really felt better afterwards

  2. I did vomit during labor right about before I began pushing. Its really not as bad as you think, it is mostly just that one time and you do not feel nauseous after wards. I think it is just your body's way of transitioning into the birthing process. If you are planning on getting an epidural they won't let you eat anything so if you do vomit it will just be fluid nothing to gross. Good luck & hang in there! :)

  3. i had cezrian delivery but i had vomiting feeling from the beginig and i did it really and still had feeling till when they were pulling the baby out  ........

  4. generally women who vomit do so during the transition period. unfortunately since hospitals restrict all food intake of women in labor it isn't as common as it used to be. but for women who are unmedicated and allowed to eat during labor vomiting is a common occurrance and generally doesn't mean that you are nauseated before or afterward.

  5. When i had my first i was fine until the end then i started feeling sick when they sat me up the move the babies head down before i started pushing i started feeling sick but they gave me Meds through my IV and i was fine after that i thought it was becuase i didnt eat for 24 hours and with all the meds i was on but good luck everything will be ok

  6. i was throwing up until hard labor, the hormones really got to me! good luck!

  7. I did from the start. I needed meds to quite so I could have the baby. Not good at all.

  8. I got it in the middle stages. I don't seem to remember it being too close to delivery.

Try not to eat much or drink anything except water. (all I drank was Ribena (blackcurrent squash) and was sick purple juice! bleh!)

You feel a lot better afterwards, and once you hold your baby, you will barely remember!

  9. No one that I know.

  10. A friend of mine just had a baby a week ago and she pushed for two and a half hours -- and puked while pushing. It's probably relieving, I would think.

  11. my brothers girl friend vomitted like crazy before and during the pushing. I have gone into labour yet so I can't speak for myself.
