Question:

Who has worse customer service, Comcast or AT&T?

Comcast:

Pros: Actually talk to a person

Cons: You probably know more than that person

AT&T:

Pros: None so far

Cons:

1. Extremely difficult to talk to a person.

2. Won't talk to you unless you pay your bill. That means if you have a problem with your bill, you have to pay it before you can talk to them.

3. There are always problems with the bill

4. Most times, we don't even get the bill. We just get an overdue notice. This leads back to problem #2.

I'd like to hear which company provides worse customer service. I'm sure there are a lot of people with similar experiences.

p.s. - As of right now, I've been on hold with AT&T for over a half hour waiting to find out why our phone stopped working for no reason.

  1. comcast has the worst cust. service. their tech support isnt any better. I used to work for an ISP & had to deal with several depts of comcast. I have never heard more complaint about a companyin my life.


  2. There can't  be anyone worse that AT&T. My parents phone was out from August until November. No kidding. They are elderly and had to rely on their spotty cell phone coverage in case of emergency. I called AT& T numerous times on their behalf, and the representive would actually try to talk me into changing my phone service to AT&T! And- AT & T is still trying to bill for the months my parents had no phone service!

  3. I think all tech support/customer service reps are aholes. i mean that companies try to make you crazy so u hang up or something. so i think all of the companies have bad customer service.

I have comcast service and I am always extremly happy with them.  If I have a problem they do everything they can to resolve it (I have internet contection problems maybe once every year)  We have been with them for 4 years.  They only charge you a service fee if it was something you did like your dog chewed through the phone line or you did a self install on internet service and mixed up ALL the wires.

    I was with AT&T for less then a year and had non stop problems and they were always charging me for their mistakes!  I would choice Comcast any day (plus they do offer your cable, internet, and phone in a package.  They try to help keep your bill down)

  5. from what ive dealt with...I would say comcast. I have comcast cable, and havent had much trouble, but i work for Verizon repair and get a lot of complaints about Comcast...I hear bad things about at&t but not nearly as many as Comcast...

    shortly = 30 minutes and counting.

    I am canceling so who knows how long this will take.  I just placed it on speaker phone and have been doing my work for the past half hour.  AT&T does not have to worry about me ever dealing with them again though, easily the worst service I have ever had.  

    I have never dealt with Comcast, but I can't see it being much worse than what I am experiencing now.

  7. Actually, Verizon has the worst customer service, no one can ever beat them at being ignorant, inconsiderate, and derogatory to their customers.

    When it comes to customer service, it really doesn't seem to matter who you have service with.... they are all very, very, very frustrating....

    And, like you said, they often know less than you do.

    If the problems are simple, then all is well... their a genius...

    But, if the problem requires real intelligence, empathy, technical knowledge, then forget it....

    Really good "consistent" customer service..... is a myth...

  10. AT&T. Between being put on hold and being switched around from department to department, you can spend hours on the phone with them and still not have your problem solved. I have received erroneous information, conflicting information from them and even one of their departments told me the information I was receiving from the other departments was wrong. Finally canceled them and went to Comcast. So far, no problems.

  12. omg. i went through that the other day. i HATE ATT!!! i have dsl with them and i have dry loop dsl and everytime i call they put me on hold and transfer me from department to department while i listen to everyone say im' in the wrong place until like an hour later, i FINALLY get someone that can help me. i've only had them since november and i'm already considering goin' with someone else. how do they stay in business?
