They way you wear your clothes is a statement of who you are and is a form of Design wich is a form of art and should be treated just like painting or sculpting. I say dress codes shoudlnt exist.

  1. I hate fashion, but I also hate uniforms.

  2. I go to a pritvite school. so i have always had to wear uniforms and I hate them they make me look weird but you still have other ways of being fashionable like with you hair and shoes and days where you don't have to wear uniforms =)

  3. uniforms are super g*y cuz you cant express yourself. and the S****y thing is that principals think it makes the kids smarter and makes kids stop talking about others clothes. its not true! my middle school wore uniforms and they used to say ppl had dingy shirts and highwaters. lol

  4. I hate uniforms,  and we cant even accsorize where i go to school.

  5. you go to school to become educated not to make a fashion statement.  uniforms were implemented to set all children at an equal level, the poor children do not stand out from the rich children.  children cannot tease each other because of their clothes, they are all wearing the same thing.  if you hate uniforms so much perhaps you should change schools.  you can also be "fashionable" in the afternoons and on the weekends if it means that much to you.

  6. When your school is all glass and your uniform is black then yeah it is annoying but there are 3 schools in my town. The I go to has the highest reputation so uniform is what people expect. Also people from the other schools come to ours to start fights and it helps staff identify who should be there and who shouldn't. You can't expect a headmaster to memorize 1520(how many people at my school) plus staff names.

  7. Yeah, uniforms are kinda all the same -- oh, wait! That's what "uniform" means!  All the same.  There are advantages to this:

Everything in your closet matches, just pick a clean top and a clean bottom and you're dressed.  No morning stress over what to wear.

Everybody looks the same, so you're less likely to pick your friends based on their social class or clique, and might actually make real friends based on who they are.

Everybody wears the same things, so you're liable to be more focused on your schoolwork and distinguish yourself that way, instead of on "fashion".

You have the rest of your life after high school to dress "fashionably".  Not to mention after school and weekends and holidays.  True, lots of jobs require uniforms, so consider this "practice for the real world."

You're right, nobody likes forced conformity.  But it does promote a sense of belonging for those who have difficulty with that concept, feeling like they belong.  Therefore, it promotes a sense of school unity and school spirit.

If dress codes didn't exist, don't you think that every single day somebody would be "pushing the envelope" of what they think they can get away with at school?  Some would be wearing next to nothing.  Others would be wearing shirts with truly offensive things on them.

  8. I prefer uniforms. That is because I am a guy and don't really care what clothes I am wearing. Therefore uniforms make it easy to decide :).

Plus, if you just let people wear what they want, they will almost always push the limits, and end up offending people by how little they wear.

But hey, here in America, there are no uniforms -_-

  9. I think it matters on what the uniform is you can get really adorable shoes and scarfs to go with it. Funk it up with some jewlary and hair clips you could even get some really cool jackets in the winter.

Uniforms are bad but think it just lets you spend more time on your hair. Take extra time to curl flip and mess with your hair. braid it do an updo. It will make it look like you have style and still follow whatever rules there may be. :)
