Who hates their job? What would you rather be doing?

I quit my job today and I am over the moon about it! I've been fantasizing about it for months and I finally grew a pair and told my boss to bugger off! Now I shall devout myself entirely to my music. God, it feels great.

I hear you. Congrats I did the same thing this pass May. I open my own business and will be heading back to school this coming Sept.  I'm actually happy.  I'm 30 and has been working since I was 14 and this is the first year I was able to actually celebrate 4th of July, my birthday and Labor Day.  Not to mention its the first summer I have had that I get to do what I want to do.  

For the pass 9yrs I worked for a company in a "good" position but was broke and barely happy.  I worked 50+hr a week including holidays. I haven't had a raise in 3yrs due to company being on a raise freeze.  I lost 3weeks of vacation because my boss kept denial the dates I picked and since the company had a use it or loose it.  My boss said too bad, you have to loose it because they're short of staff.  So I quit, I should have did it a long time ago but needed the money.  

I have made more money in the pass 2 months then I have made in 5 month of working for my old job.  I have lost 12lbs since May. Did I mention how happy I am to be my own boss and during what I want to do.  If not, well I am.

I don't really hate my job, but I'm always open to new and better opportunities should they ever arise.  Still, to each his/her own.

You go girl!!!!!!!!!!! I just interviewed for another position at my company and am waiting to hear back. If I don't get it, I'm giving my notice as well. Poke me with a fork, I'm done!

I too am a musician and if I leave I'll take a couple weeks to finish my current project, but I'll have to go back to the day job grind soon enough.
