Strom Thurman, as you said, was in the Senate. The Senate (along with the House) are elected by the STATE they represent, not nationally.

  1. Ok......I'm not gonna get this name right but......was it Strom Thurman? The guy was almost 100 and still serving in the Senate. He voted against racial equality yet fathered a child from a black women.
