There is a controversy surrounding China's female gymnastic team about how old they really are. Articles show that the gymnasts are actually younger than the required age of 16 to be in the Olympics. The Chinese insist that the girls are old enough to be in the Olympics. What do you think?

  1. They lied and made a cute girl mimic the opening ceremony because the original singer wasn't what they wanted China portrayed as....so YES - they are lying about the age of these kids - Chinese are ruthless and want to win.

    INQUEST!

  2. They look underage.  There are evidents that they are underage.  They are definitely UNDERAGE.

Now the focus on the Chinese Team is not how good they are, but how young they are.

In Olympic 2000 Underage Chinese Gymnast Yang Yun (Bronze Medal) admitted on television that she was 14.  See link:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yang_Yun

  3. they're lying. but hey if i slaved my kid into gymnastics at the age of 3 and sent them away for training then im sure they would win gold by 13 as well.

  4. of course we know about hte controversy, its only been asked on here about 500 times. yes i believe that they are not underage, they're just better than the US, and all of the papers saying they ae underage are AMERICAN articles

  5. I think the Chinese lied about the ages of at least 2 of their gymnasts.

    PHEW

    I said it.

I feel so much better :)

  6. absolutely NOT!!

only the american are whining...and im also wondering whether there is any solid evident that the girls are underage? ( just because the american commentator said the girls looked underage is not evident)

  7. There's a controversy?  Wow.

I think it's pretty obvious that those "women" are not 16 or anywhere near 16.

  8. I believe that Chinese papers were telling the truth the first time...when they said that some of the girls were 13.

  9. Janelle is completely right and I dont understand why she got 3 thumbs down. The news only show up in American media and those girls are better than US team. Just admit it you racist people. I believe this got so much controversy because american got silver and if china disqualify america gets gold which dont deserve anyways. The chinese girls clearly outperform the us team. But people dont care anyways. I believe what the passport says fabricated or not. US could even put underage girls on gymnast team and fake a passport, who knows?

  10. Might be, I find it hard to believe 13 year olds are that good.

  11. i think they are lying their *** off.

if another team did this there would such a big investigation if the us or japan did it. they would be eliminated. there r so many things that look different. they look like the have baby teeth and their pupils are huge! and if u look at them it looks like they have not been fed. i understand u have tp be thin but they have no ***. god u could see their thigh bone. look at nastia or shawn, they got ***.

  12. sure china made some misteaks. But thet media is very bias in many issues involving china and many lies are been told by the media against china.Every chinese knows that.

  13. i think china is lying! like they lied about the singing cute girl. and theres another rumor that there were fake fireworks at the opening. china just wants everything to be perfect so other countries see them as better people. but they are nothing but a pathetic country trying to be perfect. those girls do look young. when i first saw them, they looked like about 9 to me. and they have really tiny bodies. and they still have their baby face. the IOC should really look at this but they wont. cuz i think that china payed/bribed them or something. or just because china is the host, they don't want to embarrass them or anything.
