  1. I fed Eagle Pack Natural to my dogs before I got my dane pup last year.  It cleared up my Shep's itchy skin problem, and constant diahrrea.  Didn't like that it was lamb based though, so switched my crew to Chicken Soup.

You're absoloutely right that no dane pup should EVER be fed any brand of puppy food, even large breed.

If you've got more questions, I'd suggest joining a dane chat group on Yahoo.  Premiere Great Dane is a good one, very active, and lots of knowledgeable people to answer questions/ share stories.

    Good luck!

  2. Good job! I don't feed it, but I know it's a great food! The only thing wrong is that you are feeding the adult kind, when you should be feeding large breed puppy until he/she is 18 months old. :)

  3. We feed it to our dogs and they love it.  I started using it because I had one dog whose fur was falling out due to an allergic reaction to the "old" feed we were feeding her.    All my dogs are shedding less, no skin issues, and their coats look great!  They are also pooping less.

I have a Cairn Terrier - 3 yrs, two Australian Shepherds (2yrs), and an Irish Setter 7months.  I feed them the fish based Eagle Pack.

Check with where you buy the food.  I get mine at Pet Supply Plus and they have a program where after I buy 10 or 11 (I don't remember which), I get a free bag of Eagle Pack (same size as what I had been buying).

You may want to ask your vet, but it may be better to feed your dog the Eagle Pack for large breed.  Just a suggestion.

  4. I feed the Eagle Pack Holistic, Duck and Oatmeal

I have two Saint Bernards, one three years old and one 1 1/2 years old, both females

I began feeding it about 2 years ago, when the oldest was having sensitive stomach issues.  As the prices have increased(as have all dog food prices) I have tried switching to other brands with "similar" all natural type ingredients....bad idea.  We started having stomach issues again, with loose stools and such.  So, we are sticking to the Eagle Pack holistic.  I would try the fish based, but when I tried the fish based biscuits they turned their noses up at them.  They like the duck and oatmeal very much. I also know someone who used the duck and oatmeal when their dog was having allergies/coat issues and noticed an improvement on it.

Since we are using the better food, they really don't eat a tremendous amount...they both get 1 1/2 to 2 cups twice a day, with some canned food also.  Works for them, and the yard clean up is much less than with some other foods(that, in and of itself, makes it worth it).

We also get a the frequent buyer card which allows you a free bag after purchasing 10 bags.

I have been very happy with the food.
