Who here has detasseled corn?

i'm going to detassel corn this summer to earn a little extra money to go on an 8th grade trip next summer and i need a little extra cash. can you tell me if it's hard, easy, tiring, etc?

detassle corn? do you mean shuck corn? ive never heard it put that way.... anyhow  its not hard, just time consuming ( and a real pain if youre canning a couple bushels or more)  just pull off all the outer stuff and clean off the silk on the ear...i found  it comes off easier if you use a cloth and gently rub the ear with it, then the silk just rolls off.

Not hard. All you're doing is pulling off the outer covering of an ear of corn.
